FAQ
The reason why tattoos are permanent is because the molecules in the ink are too big and dense for your body to get rid of naturally. What the laser does is break up that solid ink into tiny particles so that your body can safely flush it out through your lymphatic system.
The treatment itself isn't all that painful, most people compare the sensation of the laser to a rubber band snapping on the skin. Cold compresses are applied before, during, and after the treatment to help numb the top layer of skin. We also use a Cryo 6 Zimmer, which blows cold air onto the skin to help soothe the area and keep any pain to a minimum.
Laser tattoo removal sessions are very fast with most treatments only lasting about 1-3 minutes depending on the size and saturation of the tattoo. The smaller tattoo the less time it will take to laser. Larger pieces, such as sections of a full sleeve removal, take around 5-10 minutes. Breaks can be given as often as you'd like because comfort during this process is of the utmost importance.
The answer to this question has many variables that all play a significant roles in the tattoo removal process. Each tattoo is unique and requires it's own plan and course of treatment, so a general set amount of sessions cannot be given. Some tattoos are gone in fewer sessions and some take more sessions. Factors such as tattoo size, color, age, saturation, and location on the body all play into what kind of results you will see through your journey. Other factors such as overall health, exercise regimen, smoking, water consumption, diet, etc all play rolls into how well and how quickly your body will remove the broken down ink. Directly after the treatment there will be some mild swelling and redness around the treated area. You will be given an ice pack to take home with you. Icing the area for 15-20 minutes after the treatment will help pull any excess heat out of the skin and will greatly reduce the chance of blisters or scabbing. Sometimes blistering can occur, this is completely normal and is very temporary with most blisters going away on their own during the course of 1-2 days. Physical activity, such as going to the gym, should be limited for the first 24-48 hours to limit any excess irritation. Tim will provide you with all aftercare instructions on the day of your treatment.
The technology we use is the best in the industry and can successfully remove all colors on most skin types.
The laser will not leave any scarring. The only time scarring occurs is when the tattoo is treated too many times in too short amount of time and if the settings on the laser are used irresponsibly. We wait a minimum 11-12 weeks in between each treatment to ensure all the layers of the skin are fully healed and is safe to laser again. Our owner/head laser technician Tim Goergen has 6+ years experience and uses the safest/ most effective treatment protocols.
